Margaret Roleke

Margaret Roleke is a contemporary mixed media artist. Her practice addresses issues that are important to her;mainly immigrants rights, women's rights, BLM,
and gun control. Roleke lived close to Newtown, CT during the 2012 mass shooting which inspired work referencing gun violence. To this day, she donates
a percentage of all work sold to organizations that work for gun control. Roleke’s practice is varied; she creates installations, outdoor sculptures, wall reliefs, prints, and cyanotypes. Her work has been exhibited at the Aldrich
Museum, Ridgefield, Connecticut, Pen + Brush Gallery, New York, NY, Whitebox Gallery, New York, NY, and many other venues. Roleke has participated in art fairs including Spring Break, Pulse and Scope.
Her work has been reviewed in Whitehot Magazine, Hyperallergic, ArtNet, ArtScope, The New York Times.

 

In 2021 and 2022 she had a residency on
Governors Island in NYC through 4 Heads Portal.
