Jeremiah Johnson – AHA Artist in the Press

#JeremiahJohnson

My work explores the dislocation between the contemporary drama of “dream and reality”- the notion that the world offers you both in different guises but gives you neither.

My work shares the combination of an expressive hand and the use of mechanical means of reproduction or rendering. The work is recognized more for its content than its formal characteristics.

My work also touches upon a psychedelic aesthetic from the late 60’s and early 70’s. I’m interested in culture, folklore, the laws of attraction, and quantum physics.

I work interchangeably in print, drawing and painting as well as with found and recycled material assemblage.
