My current work is concerned with three-dimensional drawings, hybrid environments, which are assembled from the refuse of my old work, new drawing elements, mixed media, and cast sculptural elements.
I use traditional drawing techniques, charcoal, ink and graphite to create lush bursts of trees entangled in sublime light, often animal bodies inhabit these spaces.
These drawings are then deconstructed, cut apart, and reassembled, moving from the wall, the site of illusionistic transference. I use rubbings from the surface of buildings and various artificial surfaces to help create the textures of the landscape, adding the synthetic materials to create an environment that fuses idealized sentiments of nature with inorganic materials that control our environments on a day to day basis.
